Q.  Dear Oracle,

During Every Teardrop, were the streamers supposed to come down like that?! It seemed as if the guys weren't prepared for them and they just blanketed everything! It seemed as if everybody had to hold themselves from laughing while they could barely play their instruments!

No, it wasn't supposed to come down quite like that hence the boys laughing at the stage - including them - being absolutely covered!

Q.  Dear Oracle, it saddened me to watch Coldplay not play Yellow at the concert the other night. Why did they choose to exclude it? And was this the first time ever?
Thanks from Canada eh!

The band didn't play Yellow at the Paralympics Closing Ceremony either but as far as I know it's been played at all official Coldplay concerts and all summer festivals.
When they do a one-off performance or a show that's part of something else they sometimes have the chance to pick an exclusive, bespoke setlist and I think that was the case at the iTunes gig.

Q.  Hey all-knowing Oracle!
I saw this picture of a note containing the line up of songs the guys performed in SXSX from the official facebook and instagram page. I am just curious, was it handwritten by any of our dear guys? And who decides which song to play during gigs? Cheers from the Philippines!

The band and Phil came up with which songs to perform and yes, the setlist was hand-written by Chris.

Q.  Hi Oracle,
Can you please tell me the full setlist of the show in Austin?

Despite the hand-written setlist that appeared on the band's twitter page, there was a last minute change; Fix You was added.
The setlist was:
Always In My Head
Charlie Brown
Another's Arms
Viva La Vida
Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall
Fix You

I can't talk about SXSW without mentioning the tragedy that occurred outside Mohawk. I just want to send my condolences to the families of those that died at the scene of a car crash. My thoughts are with the injured and I'm hoping my friends are all safe too.

Q.  Last night's show was brilliant. Just awesome. My question is: how does being late (for whatever reason) on stage affect the band's performance? For instance, did they have to cut songs out of the show or did Apple let them play the whole set regardless? As a musician I can imagine how it might be more stressful in that situation, but Chris and the guys are so used to playing huge gigs does it not matter anymore? I for one thought it was brilliant!

Thank you!

ps. I understand if you can't disclose this, but... what WAS the hold-up backstage?

I have no idea what the hold up was but unless there is a venue curfew - meaning the band have to be off by a certain time - there is no impact on the show. In this case the set wasn't cut short, in fact a song was added - see next question.

Q.  Hello Oracle!
I'm sure you are probably being bombarded with questions at the moment; sorry to add to the list!
Sadly, I couldn't watch the stream live (School kinda gets in the way...) but I was wondering if there is anywhere else you can watch the full stream again? I've seen snipits but I really want to see the whole thing.
Thankyou so much Oracle, I'm dying to see it!

No need to apologize. You can watch it here.

Q.  Hello there Oracle,

I bet you'll be getting this question a lot in the next few days: I just finished watching Coldplay perform for the iTunes Festival. When they finished with Midnight, was Guy... playing the lasers? Or perhaps he did not have a musical part and so decided to add to the theatrics of the show?

Thank you much.

That wasn't simply a case of great timed choreography; the lasers were Guy's musical part. You could see how the lasers and Guy's movements were in synch perfectly.
I predicted last night to Anchorman that it would be today's most asked question. It was - with another that I will get around to answering - and you were the first to ask it, sir.
If you saw Phil's tweet yesterday about "new toys", here is what that is.

Q.  Dear Oracle, did you sleep last night?
It was such a great show! But now I need more! Any news?
have a nice day, kisses

I slept from 23.30 - 09.30 with a break at 02.50 - 04.10 for the show. It was indeed great. As you know, Anchorman is the bearer of all news so we shall have to wait for word from him - sorry!

Q.  Dear Oracle,
I was just curious, do you know, or are you at liberty to reveal if any songs from Ghost Stories will be appearing in the iTunes festival. Thank you!
Zakk, Biggest Fan.

Phil tweeted earlier that they were still working it out. We don't usually give such information away in advance so if you're unable to watch the live stream tonight, you will have to wait until after the show to find out.

Q.  Hi, Oracle... I'm super excited about Coldplay performing at the iTunes Festival, I submitted for a chance to win tickets and I've been refreshing my e-mail nonstop ever since, have the winners already been contacted? Or is there a chance that I might win?
Thank you very much, wise Oracle

The winners have been notified, Regina. Even though you weren't successful on this occasion, you are able to watch the performance live online.
