Q.  I'm so curious... what really happened to the puppets? Was the tequila as I've heard? Or the atmosphere in Bogota? It seems that the tour got them tired a lot! Poor puppets... I think they deserve some rest :) Haha .. I really hope you enjoyed the whole tour, thanks a lot for coming.
See you soon ...
..We love you! :D

I blame the altitude! I will let you into a secret. I actually left Chris' leg in the back of a car in Rio; it had fallen off and I hadn't noticed. We were reunited very quickly and the following day he was given to the crew carpenter as he had a severe head injury; basically the back of it had come apart. As you can see the puppets took a beating on this gruelling tour and sadly didn't quite make it until the end. It's a shame they weren't photographed well in Guadalajara and of course at all in Monterrey.

Q.  Dear Oracle, first of all I have to say that yesterday was the most amazing concert I've ever been to, and hope you guys come back pretty soon. My question is, did the Coldplay-shaped puppets made it to Monterrey? they seem to be MIA around here

I'm surprised they survived the tour to be honest. I don't know whether to blame Tequila for their behaviour in Guadalajara; as you can see by that photo they were certainly not at their best. It was a very hot day and they weren't in the mood to go to Zapopan Catedral, Teatro de Gollando or Acueducto.
There was a party here in Monterrey on Wednesday night for all the crew members, Bat for Lashes and of course the band. That was quite a late night and so the following morning the pesky puppets were, as you say, missing in action.
They even refused to have their photo taken with the real band members yesterday.
There will be one last photo but I doubt it will be a scenic shot of this wonderful terrain. It's a shame because I quite fancied taking them on a trip to Mirador del Obispado.

Q.  Hello Oracle!
I was wondering in that picture of the Coldplay puppets in Corfu, what book are they reading? They seemed to be really into it.

It was actually Quicksilver by Neal Stephenson.

Q.  Dear Oracle,

I know you've already answered a puppets-go-to-Greece question, but can you please tell us why underneath the photos it said: we will see you? Could it possibly mean that Coldplay are planning to do a show in Greece anytime in the future?

Thank you so much for all of your answers, you're the best!

PS. I understand you've already answered to Dimitra so answering mine would be a bit too much for greek queries ^_^

The puppets were more saying "See you later" or "See you around". Therefore, no, there is no Greek show planned.

Q.  Hello Oracle!
How are you? I must say that I was very surprised to see the Coldplay-shaped puppets in Greece! I could say I'm shocked!
Does it mean that Coldplay were here too? Thank you for your time!
PS.Please answer this one!!!

I'm fine thank you. Coldplay weren't in Corfu; just the puppets on holiday.

Q.  Dear Oracle
What are the boys' favourite sports? I notice that the Coldplay puppets were holding a cricket bat, does that mean they like cricket? I'm from Australia, so if you say anything about the ashes...

Christina from the USA asked what the item the puppets were holding was, so you've answered her here by letting her know it was a miniature cricket bat. They are fans of cricket but that's not why they're holding a bat; the gig was at the Lancashire Cricket ground in Manchester. The band were thrilled the Ashes came home! Oops, sorry!
Will and Jonny do love football too...

Q.  Dear O,
who is travelling with the Coldplay-shaped puppets? I mean, somebody has to take the photos, right?

It's more a question of who are the puppets travelling with; they travel with the band of course. It's Dan "the Man" Portanier who is looking after their day to day touring. Given their current state I'm sure you think he's not doing a great job looking after their welfare but travelling all over the world when you're around 10 inches tall is no easy feat. (FYI: That was the puppets height, not Dan's!)

Q.  Hi Oracle,
Following up from yesterday's LIT ii question, do the "crew" puppets represent actual crew members, and if so,who?

No they don't and so to Randi from the States this is why the crew puppets aren't travelling around the world with the Coldplay-shaped ones.

Q.  Dear Oracle...when the boys are out on tour, who decides where the puppets should go to have their pictures taken? Are there any requests from the band on where they should go?

It's actually Dan, their trainer, who organizes and takes the puppets on their sight seeing tours.

Q.  Dear all knowing Oracle.
In the photos from Auckland it looks like the puppet of Chris has some extra loops or something attached to his feet, what are they?
Also, did they pay adult or childs prices to get the puppets up the tower?

There are some small rods attached to his feet to help manoeuvre the puppet during the video shoot. The adult who accompanied the puppets was the only paying customer because, er, they're not real. In the words of Brian Conley; "It's a puppet!"
