Q.  I'm trying to purchase the song Gravity but can't find it anywhere. I'm told it's on the Talk single but I still have not been able to find a version with Gravity. Can you point me in the right direction?

I'm afraid I can't as I don't have a list of stockists.
Talk was released as a single in both the UK and US (where you are) and the b sides were Gravity & Sleeping Sun so there shouldn't be any problem finding it. It appears there are versions out there without it, but officially - as you probably know - there were two b-sides.

Q.  Why did Coldplay choose to sell the song Gravity to another band? I really miss that song and don't like the new version.

They didn't sell Gravity per se. Chris suggested to Danny MacNamara that Embrace record it. They did and it was released as a single and featured on their Out Of Nothing album (2004).
Although Chris "gave" the song away, the way it works is royalties are paid to the original writers even though the performer also earns performance royalties.

If you want to hear the band's version, Coldplay went on to record the song and it appeared on the b-side to Talk.

Q.  Is Coldplay allowed to play Gravity at a concert even though the gave the song to Embrace? And do you think they would remember how to play it?

Anyone can play anything live regardless of who had the "hit" with it so yes, they can play the song. Plus as the song's original writers, it would never be an issue to perform or record Gravity.
I'm sure they can remember how to play it though from time to time they do forget certain parts. It comes back... a bit like riding a bike - you never totally forget, just get a little rusty.

Q.  Hi, I only want to know if this song is played by Coldplay and if it is true, when did they composed it? Thank you very much.

Spooky, our second Gravity question of the day.
Yes this song - Gravity - was written and performed by Coldplay in 2002.
Chris "gave" the song away & it was released by Embrace in 2004.
In 2005, Coldplay re-recorded it and released it as the bside of the Talk single.

Q.  Dear Oracle, what do you think my chances are, that if I make a sign that says, "Please Play Gravity" when Coldplay are in New Zealand, that they will?

No, I think I can categorically say they won't; because they don't see that song as theirs since Embrace recorded it.

Q.  Dear Oracle!!!

You talked about Embrace! Do you like them? Did Coldplay play Gravity or any other Embrace song?
And other question: what's your favorite latin american artist?
Thanks! :-)

Yes Embrace have some cracking tunes; we like them! I think you may have misunderstood Allan. Gravity was written by Coldplay and Embrace recorded a version of it.
My favourite Latin American artist is Gloria Estefan who was born in Cuba.

Q.  Where can I get Gravity?

Coldplay's version of Gravity is available on the Talk single. Embrace released it as their single from their 4th studio album; Out Of Nothing. Coldplay had been performing it live prior to this and it wasn't included on any album. It was then given to Embrace who gained a number 7 on the UK charts with it.

Q.  Hey there Oracle! I've heard a live Coldplay song that starts "Honey, its been a long time coming, and I can't stop now..."? Can you please tell me what this track is and where can I find it? It sounds beautiful! Thanks!

This is Gravity, which was first played live during the Rush of Blood tour. It was officially released by Embrace as a single in 2004. Coldplay later recorded it in 2005 and it appeared on the Talk single and that's where you can find it.
