Q.  Hi Oracle !
I know the boys don't like to see themselves performing but do you know if they already saw LIVE 2012 ? And what did they think about it ?
Thanks xx from France .

Hi Safa, well it's completely different when it comes to releasing a film.
They would certainly have to watch themselves as it's important, nay, imperative that they are happy with what is going to be out there.
If they weren't happy with the finished article, they wouldn't release it so therefore yes, they have seen it and are happy with it.
Hope you are too!

Q.  Hi Oracle. I wanna ask you this. in the cinemas, is it going to be shown the gig in Paris, the documentary or both?

It's so weird to think that because of time differences on this vast planet of ours, people will have just come out of the cinema having already watched it! Wow.
Anyway, to answer your question - there is no documentary. It's not like Live 2003 where there are two very separate parts. This film is a live concert with the occasional glimpse into the backstage world narrated by each band member.

Q.  Hello there, dear Oracle!

As the day of the Coldplay Live evening in theatres gets closer and closer... I am wondering what is in your opinion the best seat? Close to the screen - as in live experience "being closest to the band" OR a little bit more in the back area for having a good overview? :)
I already made a ticketreservation but now I am not sure if they are too close to the screen and i will change it...
Not an easy decision... maybe this sounds weird.. but it is! Thank you very much for your help! Have a nice one!

Are we all excited? Yay! It's not a daft question because as you say, there are options and you'd think it may be the same choice you'd make for a live show.
Not the case for me. At a gig I want to be right at the front. At the cinema I like to be further back. Usually I'm a halfway back, aisle seat kind of watcher but for Live 2012, I was back row all the way!

Q.  Dear Oracle,
I saw the poster/picture on Facebook for the Coldplay live tour DVD and stumbled upon a familiar name near the bottom: Jim Parsons. How did the oh so famous Dr. Sheldon Cooper from the Big Bang Theory get around to producing this amazing film? Thanks Oracle!

A few fans have asked the same but it's not him; this is a different Jim Parsons. Jim owns a UK based production company and previously worked for another who worked with Coldplay in the past.

Q.  Hi oracle.

I'm currently contemplating over seeing the Live 2012 showing at the cinema and can't quite work out if I should go or not. Can you help me please?

How do you imagine the atmosphere being there? Will people even be singing along or anything? Won't it feel strange for me since I've been to many (17) Coldplay shows in person?

Thanks, and I only need a tiny bit of convincing to go haha! :-)

SEVENTEEN??? That's more that I went to. Wow.
Well... having seen both the MX Tour live - about 8 times - and the Live 2012 at a cinema I am in a good position to say: go!
It's always great to re-live the show but the film means you see it from many angles including from the stage. It's incredible to see what the band see. Not only are there various views, there's backstage footage and other effects making it an altogether different experience.

Of course you could wait for the DVD release but seeing it on the big screen with surround sound is a fantastic way to see it. I almost turned round a few times thinking crowds were whistling and cheering behind me. I was on the back row though...

Q.  I wanted to book tickets to Coldplay Live 2012 on Vue cinemas but I was surprised to find that it is a certificate 15 so I cant see it. Why is this, Do they swear or anything, its just confusing :)
P.S - HUGE HUGE HUGE Fan of Coldplay if you couldn't tell :)
Greetings From UK!

I'm not sure if you got to see the show during the tour but yes, Chris does swear. It's only a couple of times so I didn't realize that would make it a certificate 15 though. PG surely?
Anyway, in 19 days everyone will be able to watch it on DVD.

Q.  Wait. I'm so confused. So the Coldplay film is showing in select theaters? I thought you only bought it online? Please explain!
Thanks!

Both are more than possible... you can only buy it online but you can also watch it in selected cinema. That's obviously going to depend on where you live as it's not on general release or anything.
Anchorman will provide more news about all that soon.

Q.  So come on then, which came first... The comic/story or the album?

Well this is interesting because they were working on both at the same time yet both were very separate entities. However, the name Mylo Xyloto was first associated with the comic.
It was only later when the musical direction of the album changed and the comic idea was put on the back burner that the name became the album's name.
I hope that makes sense!

Q.  On the new 2012 DVD trailer I think I noticed that a part of the video is form the Warsaw concert (00:57 I think) Does it mean that one of the songs will be from that concert!?

All the details are in the news piece including the director saying: "Live 2012 includes footage from Coldplay’s shows at Paris’s Stade de France, Montreal’s Bell Centre and last year’s triumphant Pyramid Stage headline performance at Glastonbury Festival".

Filming was completed by the Stade de France show in Paris so anything after won't be included.
Therefore no, there won't be footage from the Warsaw gig in the film.
