Q.  Hey Oracle! I had a question pertaining to the 2012 Brits. I remember there being a post (I think from the Anchorman) talking about how Chris went bonkers over a loop Noel had created, and that loop pedal was taken to be run through Mr. Buckland's stack. So my question is, did anything ever come of that loop? I've always been curious as to what it sounded like. Thank you!

Hmm, two people asked this question in the space of a week.
I think you probably read it in one of Roadie #42's blogs rather than an Anchorman post. In fact, I just found it here.

Nothing happened with it.

Q.  Hi Oracle! I think it was on the BBCR1 interview with Zane Lowe, Chris described Ghost Stories as '42 minutes on an emotional treadmill'. I was just wondering whether there was a significance in making the album 42 minutes long? I know that Coldplay have a song called 42 from the VLV era so perhaps 42 is a significant number to the band? or perhaps it's just a coincidence? (it's my favourite number by the way!)

Thank you! :D

There is a significance. That number is important to the band and has appeared before as you said - the song 42 and Roadie #42.
Also if you look historically, AROBTTH and X&Y were the only two albums that strayed quite far away from 42 minutes in length:
Parachutes 41'44
Viva 45'39
Mylo 44'09
GS 42'37

Q.  Where has Roadie 42 been? I'm really missing his blogs. Is he okay? I'm a little worried. Is he no longer blogging for the band?

No need to be worried. R42 only blogs when the band are touring or whatever and there's stuff to blog about. They aren't, so there isn't and that's why he's not blogging right now.

Q.  Hello, good Oracle. I've been leafing through old #42 blogs, and found blog 13, with the video covering the barbecue performance. In it, there is an acoustic song playing. Could you possibly identify the song for me, and any others that may have been curious about it? Thanks in advance.

The band were performing Don't Panic - you'll find it on their debut album, Parachutes.

Q.  Dear Oracle
I clicked the link to see the photo's R42 took for his blogs and where it says
"Signed by Roadie #42 Matthew Miller"

My question is, is Matthew Miller Roadie 42?????????????????????????????????? If you've already answered this, sorry for being behind everyone else.

Ta-dah! Yes. You're not behind; you're the first to ask after yesterday's first public revelation of that fact here on this website.
He's affectionately known as Miller round these parts and finally you get to see the man behind all those amazing photos and insightful blogs that keep us going when starved of all things Coldplay. High five Miller!

Q.  I saw Live 2012 in the movies yesterday and I'm totally blown away. It's so well shot and edited, a must-have for any coldplay fan!!
Anyways, I was wondering, since they showed some of their stage technicians - did we see #Roadie 42 without even knowing it??

A ha! Well... I watched the film and guess who I was sat next to? IF #Roadie 42 came on screen, maybe I nudged him and pointed! Maybe. If he was in it that is.

Q.  Hey Oracle! Hope you're well. I love the globe-trotting pic that #42 included in the recent blog (#138). Would you know if it was his own fair hand that created it?
Thank you xxx

The original picture was from the plane seat's screen but Mister #42 sprinkled some #42 magic and created the image we see on his blog. Didn't you feel tired just reading it?

Q.  I have a riddle for you. What song from the Viva album can be associated with today's date, i.e. October 10, 2010?

Of course I didn't answer yesterday as it was Sunday and if you're interested I was in Paris.
The answer to your riddle is the same as the answer to this: guess what number my hotel room was?
Yup, 42!
The tenth day of the tenth month in 2010 is 10.10.10 and when that is converted in to binary it produces the number 42.

Q.  Who is the photographer that takes all the photos we see on the Roadie blogs?

Roadie #42 takes his own photos for his blogs. Multi-talented isn't he?

Q.  Hi there! This has probably been asked a zillion times before but I can't seem to find your answer to it, so what is with the whole 42 thing? Why is that number special to the band? Thanks!

It has been asked a few hundred times that's for sure Kassandra but like many of life's mysteries, this one is also remaining as such!
There have been many theories; it's not so much that it's a secret but the band do like to keep a sense of mystique about many things. It makes it open to interpretation by the fans too.
